First week of my fasting mimicking diet (out of two)

I came to the center called “U Zboja” in Golubie up north Poland with my mom. It is located in the forest. The place is beautiful, full of wooden finishes, and quite complex. It has many facilities, and is still growing; swimming pool with jacuzzi, equipped gym, saunas, room filled with salt ( in which I have been meditating daily for 45 min – it is great for respiratory cleanse), has a mini zoo with horses, alpacas, deer’s, chickens and even a kangaroo (do not ask me why there is a kangaroo in Poland – I have no idea). You can join Nordic waling (I consider this old people sport, and have a hard time trying, but my mom is loving it), spine workouts (again my mom loves it), Zumba, regular gym, aqua aerobic, exercises with ball – and it’s all included in price. So far I have not been exercising much as I have been detoxing all those days. Also from exercise I like yoga, and somehow nothing else has won my heart. I get quite moody without food haha, so I just walk a lot, alone so no one can hear me complaining ;-). Have daily cuddles with a horse, and sneak some food for them. I am still on a process of convincing alpacas that they should play with me – but they seem to be an introvert kind.

We arrived late on Saturday, so I had quite a lot of food before, therefore I wouldn’t call it my day one. The dinner was delicious, there was a lot of fermented foods like cabbage and cucumbers, as well as “barszcz” – a beetroot soup – which was also fermented and warmed up. There was an apple salad, and some raw cabbage and celery. Everything has a lot of herbs. On top of that you can add salt, pepper, turmeric, and apple cider vinegar if you want to. The food is pretty different daily, we have quite a lot of options with each meal, but if you are not found of vegetables – you might find it quite boring. I fall in love with apples, so far had a delicious oven baked apple, apple mus and apple with wild berry salad. I am pretty sure I could be on apple diet for quite sometime. Once we even baked them in the bonfire! Follow me on Instagram story for all the dishes !

Today, I am week in! – which means 1/2 through the fast. I can finally say that I no longer feel sluggish or hungry for that matter. The weakness and foggy brain is almost gone, and I can easily do 6 km walks (okay maybe not so easily but I am doing them). I went through some pretty bad muscle pain – I could barely walk on day 3 and 4. I also have “black spots vision” when I stand up too quickly, and have some small acne on my face, but that would be it.

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetOn the other hand, my mom is extremely (at least in my eyes) active, but so is most people here. She went through intense candida detox, headaches, vomiting, and she got better on day 4. Right now her vision went down – but apparently that is normal, and most likely her vision will improve after few days (this fast can improve vision).

Until day 5, I slept up to 15 hours a day. I think it could be due to adrenal glands fatigue. It finally seem to disappear, and I am having a lot more energy for the past two days. I sleep about 7 hours at night.

Me and my mom have also done a 3 treatments of hydrocolonotherapy. It has really helped me with energy increase. Previously to the treatment, I attend one seminar about it, and I have done some research myself. Until then I only tried enemas. If you are interested in my “shitty” experience and science behind it – I am happy to share it. But it went “smooth” haha, and I got a whole new gut 😉

I think, coming to a special center with a medical care, it’s a great way to do the fast, especially if you are into health. This place will serve you with lots of research and seminars hold by doctors. There are seminars about Hashimoto (almost every woman here suffers with thyroid under function), veganism, how to cook at home after this diet, you get to know the power of this diet from the founder of the diet doctor Ewa Dabrowska, and meet like minded people. My best buddy was a 90 years old man, who is plant based for several years, has healed himself from prostate cancer, and is a lot more active than me (for real). I thought him to eat avocado :D.

Personally, I find it hard to fast when at home, and being surrounded by people who also eat carrots all day long makes it a lot more enjoyable 😉.

Processed with VSCO with a8 presetI took some food inspo pictures from the fast (they are not instagram friendly haha, but I hope they can help), with some menu, which will last you for 14 days (it’s exactly what I have been served), if you decide to do the diet at home, you should choose between one raw salad, and perhaps one warm meal like soup or a dish 😉. You can also eat fully raw – which will fasten the detoxification process, or only cooked food, which will be helpful if you are over cool.

Remember to limit the oil to minimum (preferably almost none) and add as much herbs as possible. Let me know if you decide to try ! If you have already done it, please share your experience – I am exited to hear about it.
